Our Journey.
Nokori was born in 2018, in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Helen — its founder — had spent over 15 years in the clinical world, witnessing firsthand the challenges surgery patients faced during recovery.
There had to be a better way — one that made healing simpler, more supported, and less overwhelming for patients. Inspired by the need to build a more integrated approach, Helen set out to bring this idea to life.
Jo joined soon after, sharing the same vision. Together they worked to create solutions that would make pre- and post-surgery recovery simpler, clearer, and more empowering for patients.
Seven years on — Nokori has helped over 10,000 patients through their recovery — and we're still counting.
Meet the Team.
Inspired by real challenges, supported by first-hand experience, and driven to make a difference — we're a small team but we’ve got big goals and we're just getting started.

Meet Helen
Who are you, Helen?
I'm a Brit with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, with a focus on the breast specialty. I’ve worked alongside surgeons and medical professionals worldwide, particularly in plastic and reconstructive procedures in Australia.
What inspires your work?
I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between physical and mental well-being. Through my career, I’ve seen the challenges patients face during surgery and recovery—both physically and emotionally—and I wanted to help make this journey smoother and more supportive.
Why did you create Nokori?
Nokori was born from my passion for patient care. I’ve partnered with specialists to create solutions that not only promote better healing but also empower patients to approach recovery with confidence, focusing on both their physical and emotional well-being.

Meet Jo
Who are you, Jo?
I’m a Frenchie with a long history of advising startups and larger businesses on strategy and growth — much of my work has been in retail, healthcare, and digital technology, helping companies scale profitably.
What inspires your work?
I believe businesses should be a force for good. With Nokori, we are working on something meaningful — rooted in respect, support, and care. Our goal is simple: to create solutions that directly support people's wellbeing and positively impact the world around us.
Why did you join Nokori?
From the start, I’ve been fully committed to growing Nokori into the visionary company Helen and I envisioned — a business that puts people first. We’re just at the beginning of this bold journey, but it’s one full of great ideas, purpose, and potential.

Meet Maxime
Who are you, Maxime?
I am a gynaecologist and global health professional committed to improving patient care through research, education, and comprehensive support. My experience in women's health has reinforced my belief that recovery extends far beyond medical procedures. By combining medical expertise with patient-centred care, I aim to foster a more informed and thoughtful approach to every stage of a patient’s healing journey.
What inspires your work?
Scar care is an essential part of recovery, both physically and emotionally, yet it is often overlooked. I am inspired by how patients, once equipped with the right tools and knowledge, take an active role in their healing process. This not only enhances the effectiveness of their recovery but also provides reassurance, allowing them to heal with confidence and ease.
What do you like about Nokori?
I value how Nokori makes scar care accessible to all patients, providing not only support but also invaluable education. Through in-depth resources, Nokori helps patients understand the scar healing process, the role of scar care, and the best practices for managing their recovery. This empowers individuals to make informed decisions and feel confident in supporting their body’s natural recovery.
We’re more than just products — we're here to support patients through the first steps of their healing journey.
— Helen, Founder of Nokori.
