What is the Nokori Scar Tape?

The Nokori Scar Tape is a thin, atraumatic, 100% medical-grade silicone dressing designed to help flatten and soften new and old surgical or injury-related scars. It is indicated to support optimal scarring and minimise the risk of hypertrophic or keloid scars.

By providing gentle compression and maintaining optimal moisture levels, it supports the natural healing process, helps prevent scars from becoming raised or thickened, and promotes a smoother skin texture.

Breathable → Ensures a balanced healing environment by allowing oxygen flow while retaining moisture
Atraumatic → Minimises pain and trauma during application and removal, making it ideal for sensitive skin
Conformable → Conforms well to body contours for effortless application, regardless of scar location
Splash-proof → Can be worn during light showering or light swimming without losing its protective benefits
UV protection → Offers some protection from UV exposure — we recommend pairing with SPF 50 sunscreen and protective clothing for the best sun defence

What does the Scar Tape do?

Protects and compresses
Acts as a protective barrier and applies gentle compression to minimise raised scar tissue.
Maintains optimal moisture
Balances moisture levels in the scar by replicating the occlusion properties of the top layer of skin, while still allowing the skin to breathe. This helps reduce scarring and promote smoother skin texture.

When should I use the Scar Tape?

We recommend using the Scar Tape after surgery — once the dressings and surgical tape have been removed and the skin incisions have entirely healed. This can range from 2+ weeks after surgery for small incisions to 6–8 weeks for larger ones.

If you're unsure, consult your medical team during your post-operative appointment for guidance on when to start using the Scar Tape.

How to use the Scar Tape

The Scar Tape is atraumatic and should adapt smoothly to body contours.

Application:

Ensure the skin is clean and dry
If combining with the Scar Balm, wait at least 6 hours for it to absorb into the skin
Tear or cut the tape to the desired size and shape
Remove the protective liner and apply the tape along the scar line, without stretching
Leave the tape on for 1–7 days, following either the daily or weekly routine (see alternating routines for more details)
If needed, remove and reposition or store carefully for later use (beware of hairs, dust, and other irritants)
Use for a minimum of 12 weeks, and up to 12 months

❗ Skin Sensitivity ❗

Mild skin reactions to adhesives can happen. If so, shorten the use interval or pause entirely and focus on using the Scar Balm only.

Combining the Balm & Tape

For optimal results, we recommend alternating between the Scar Tape and Scar Balm at regular intervals. For example, use the Scar Tape during the day and the Scar Balm at night, or alternate between several days of using the tape and several days of using the balm. We’ve designed specific routines for those of you using our Duo Kit.

Important: make sure not to apply the tape directly over the balm — it won’t stick properly. The balm needs time to fully absorb into the skin to avoid interfering with the tape’s adhesive properties and ensure both products perform as they should.
